I’ve been toying, for some time, with the idea of a Friday wrap-up post. Links I liked, thoughts on the week/weekend… you know, one of those. And, today’s you’re lucky day, because I decided to give it a whirl. Ready for this?
This week was one of those weeks where Monday rolled around and there was lingering “weekend is over” depression… then all the sudden it was Friday. I lourve it when that happens. Also, I’ve been battling some really rough stomach issues (appt. with the specialist next Friday, thank the Lord), and let me tell you the awkwardness and uncomfortableness that surrounds having stomach issues while at work. It’s immense and awful. So another reason to be thankful for the weekend.
Tonight Christian and I are lying low, planning a veggie-filled dinner and just relaxing. Tomorrow C’s heading snowboarding and I have the lucky privilege of taking the puppies to the vet (oh, I haven’t mentioned the puppies? Stay tuned next week), then maybe see a movie with the mama in the afternoon + some vino? Sunday we’ll head to our marriage class at church then watch the Nuggets pummel the OKC Thunder (hopeful prayers) Sunday night. What are you up to? Can you believe January is almost 2/3’s over?
Here are few of my favorites from around the web this week:
The art of hospitality. I so desperately want to be a great hostess and master of hospitality. I’ll have to keep this in mind the next time we have people stay or just over for dinner.
My mantra for this week. I’m always needing to remind myself to let it be, stop comparing and just keep what matters in my heart. This quote, hit home and I can’t stop thinking about it.
Qunioa with goat cheese and spinach. I’ve been on a strict diet the past few weeks (re: no dairy, no wheat/gluten, no sugar, limited caffeine etc). I may have snuck a few chocolate chips, but otherwise have followed it closely. I think I could justify these and can’t wait to make them!
Booty Burning Walking Workout. We bought a treadmill to help us stay in touch with our 2013 resolutions and on the schedule tomorrow is a low-impact day. Perfect for testing out the Fitnessista’s new booty burner. I’ll keep you posted.
Adding or faking texture for your hair. My hair is epic-ly fine — I’m going to have to try this and see if I can make it look schmexy (or, at least, a little more voluminous).
My favorite printable. I’m a sucker for organization and planning. That’s why Cassie’s calendar caught my eye. I love it, and think you will too.
Make your 2013 goals gorgeous. Need a daily reminder and visual for your goals, here’s a great way (I’m thinking about) to make sure they stay front and center.
